Vineyard setting, mystery lights provide backdrop for Texas wedding

When Camille Ivy-O’Donnell and Edward Michael Bentin got ready to exchange wedding vows they picked the picturesque Chateau Wright Winery for the venue. Located in Fort Davis, Texas, in the Chihuahuan Desert, this New Blue Mountain Trail Vineyard is the highest town in the state. It wasn’t their first choice. They originally planned to say I Do at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas, home to the Marfa mystery lights. But then the El Paso Diocese canceled all weddings and funerals for the foreseeable future. Camille’s mom, Norma, manned the phones and reached out to Chateau Wright, who said yes, even though this was their first wedding. They even threw in some wine for the reception, so naturally Camille and Ed purchased the winery’s last bottle of Jack Rabbit Red 2017 and plan to open it on their first anniversary. Talk about a romantic!

It’s almost as romantic as Ed’s beach proposal. He invited Camille’s immediate family to Gulf Shores for a week in 2018 and surprised her the first night there. “He could barely get out two sentences before our mothers (Norma and Cristina) were running towards us screaming,” says Camille. “We had a whole week to celebrate with family and relax.”
