Audubon Zoo – perfect backdrop for Kokemor-Maldonado engagement photos

One of Eye Wander Photo owner Aaron Hogan’s favorite things to do, aside from weddings, of course, are engagement sessions. Getting to capture those magical looks of love between the two people who are just beginning the journey of a lifetime together.

He got to do this for Jamie Kokemor and Kyle Maldonado late one afternoon in October at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, a few months after he popped the question at what she thought was a surprise 30th birthday party for him. It took place at Rock ‘n Sake, site of their first date, and all their family and friends were on hand for the momentous occasion. It was perfect because family is extremely important to both of them, as is their Golden Retriever pup, who managed to join in on the fun of their engagement session.

“We knew we wanted to get married very early on in our relationship and we’ve kept envisioning our lives together,” they wrote when asked about their relationship. “Our relationship has always been solid… Any disagreements we have had are usually over very silly things and we have learned to talk through them. We both feel like we can be completely ourselves around each other and there is complete trust in each other.”

Jamie and Kyle will return to the zoo, well to its Audubon Tea Room, for their wedding reception after exchanging vows at Holy Name of Jesus Church April 2.
